#ScotArt is a nationwide youth engagement project taking place across Scotland to mark the Year of Young People 2018 drawing to a close. www.yoyp2018.scot

Throughout Autumn 2018, Young Champions will lead #ScotArt workshops with youth groups in 14 regions of Scotland. Working alongside lead artist, Ariel Killick, young people in the 14 regions of Scotland will each choose a symbol to represent their area which Ariel and young artists will make into wicker sculptures.

Displayed on the High Street from 21 - 29 December, the wicker sculptures will lead the Torchlight Procession and come together on Holyrood Park to create a spectacular finale marking the end of the Year of Young People 2018.

The project is supported by Year of Young People Event Funding and is being run by Underbelly (the producers of Edinburgh’s Hogmanay), in partnership with Young Scot, Edinburgh Art Festival and the Scottish Government.

Edinburgh’s Hogmanay 18 launched the Year of Young People at the annual 30 December Torchlight Procession by revealing #ScotWord which was a creative engagement project headed up by 26 young people from around Scotland; the #ScotWord Champions. The word chosen by champions and spelled out by torchbearers at the Torchlight was #BRAW
