#ScotArt. An incredible nationwide youth project which culminates in the annual 30 December Torchlight procession, commemorating the end of Scotland’s Year of Young People 2018. www.yoyp2018.scot

Led by Young Champions and Artist Ariel Killick, #ScotArt workshops will take place in 14 regions across Scotland, where young people will work together to create a symbol that represents their region. Each symbol will be constructed into a full-size wicker sculpture and displayed for the public along the Royal Mile until 30 December, where they will form the focal point of Edinburgh’s Torchlight Procession.

Featuring the powerful creative energy of Scotland’s young people at its very heart, this year’s procession will create a finale moment as we approach the end of Scotland’s Year of Young People 2018.

The project is supported by Year of Young People Event Funding and is being run by Underbelly (the producers of Edinburgh’s Hogmanay), in partnership with Young Scot, Edinburgh Art Festival and the Scottish Government.

Edinburgh’s Hogmanay 18 launched the Year of Young People at the annual 30 December Torchlight Procession by revealing #ScotWord which was a creative engagement project headed up by 26 young people from around Scotland; the #ScotWord Champions. The word chosen by champions and spelled out by torchbearers at the Torchlight was #BRAW
